Business Ethics

According to the American Management Association 56% of 462 executives named 'ethical behavior' as the most important characteristic of an effective business leader. How, as a leader, can you set the standard? What are the core values that define your company? What are the essential characteristics of business ethics? Knowing what is right is important but doing what is right is critical to both personal and business ethics.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Thomas M. Spilman
Thomas Spilman is a transplant to the Northwest, but that has only served to strengthen his enthusiasm for the growth movement behind South Sound area in the time he’s been with us.

As president of KeyBank’s South Puget Sound District, Tom oversees the workings of over 62 KeyCenters and more than 500 employees, a responsibility that stretches to growing Key’s presence in retail, business and commercial banking in this area.

A native of the mid-west, he spent the first part of his life in Ohio, attending Miami University of Ohio and going on to start his career with KeyBank in Columbus.  After holding a variety of management positions, he served as district retail leader in the Columbus-area for almost two years between 2002 and 2004 prior to his promotion to the Tacoma-area.

Spilman is quite active in the South Puget Sound community, serving as a foundation board member of Tacoma Community College, and as co-leader of Key’s United Way and March of Dimes district campaigns.
