- How do I find funding?
Take a look here for a list of some common funding sources. Please feel free to come by GWP 329 to talk about your research interests and we'll look at possible sources of funding. In addition, there are searchable databases such as GrantSelect that are available to you. Try it out! It has a large number of opportunities!
- Does my project need to go through the Office of Sponsored Programs?
GIM 34 is the policy statement on whether external funding must go through the Office of Sponsored Programs or not. I've tried to summarize the policy into a flowchart for our use. Final determination of all questions arising under these guidelines relating to the classification and processing of external support is made by the Vice Provost for Research. The OSP website has some additional FAQ's that have arisen in Seattle regarding this policy.
- Where do I find the basic information (benfits rates, Authorizing Official, DUNS, etc.) I need for preparing a proposal?
Here. If you're filling out an SF-424 for grants.gov, go here for useful information.
Need something else? Please let me know.
- How should I describe UW Tacoma?
The Connumications group in the Office of Advancement has established a UW Tacoma Style Guideline. To find out information about UW Tacoma, please consult the Office of Institutional Research and Planning's Fast Facts or FactBook.

Of course! Give me a call (x2-4870), send me an email or stop by my office (GWP 329). I'd be more than happy to help with any of these things.
