EXTRAMURAL FUNDING:

Federal:

Grants.gov is not only the portal for grant applications, it's also a great way to search for funding from many federal agencies.

Many agencies also keep their own websites of funding opportunities. Here are a few that may be of interest:

ED, EPA, NEH, NIH, NSF

State Programs:

A variety of state agencies fund research projects at the University. Please let me know if there are any that should be added!

DOH, DOT, HECB, Life Sciences Discovery Funds

Other:

The UW Office of Sponsored Programs keeps a list of some program announcements that may be of interest to our community.

They also offer a link to Grant Select which covers a large number of opportunities in a variety of areas including (but not limited to!): Arts and Humanities, Children and Youth, Education, International Programs, and Special Populations.

In addition, the Community of Science maintains a large database of funding opportunities. Keep in mind that this is an international database, you may wish to use the "Advanced Search" feature so that you restrict your search appropriately. UW provides access.

Fundsource is a tool designed to help behavioral and social scientists find research funding. It has been designed to be specific to behavioral and social science research. The database includes short descriptions; contact information; and web links to programs in federal agencies, foundations, and international organizations that fund behavioral and social science research.

Our library has access to the Foundation Center ; you can search their databases from the library.

If you're interested in foundation support, please make sure we determine if the funding is a "gift" or a "grant." If it is a "gift," please check with the development office which is part of Advancement.
