Roseann Martinez, M.S.W.

• M.S.W., University of Washington Seattle, 1985.

Prior to graduate school Ms. Martinez' experience focused on residential treatment for latency aged children and teenage girls. Ms. Martinez' educational background focused on community organizing and social work planning and administration. Additional leadership training has included LIOS, Leadership Institute of Seattle, 1998 and Leadership Tomorrow, 1995. She has been a supervisor and manager in a large non-profit child welfare organization, she has been a community planner in a funding organization, an executive director of a fund raising, social policy organization with a focus on child abuse prevention and family support, and a staffing coordinator for a unique retreat center which uses several hundred volunteers each year. In 2002, she was awarded Social Worker of the Year by the National Association of Social Workers, Washington State Chapter.

Ms. Martinez' volunteer work has included: President and Board of Directors of the Children's Alliance, President and Board of Directors at National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Washington State Chapter, Secretary of NASW national Board of Directors, Chair of the Western Coalition (NASW Delegate Assembly). She has also had various NASW appointments at the national level including: Strategic Planning Committee, Committee on Lesbian, Gay, BiSexual Issues, Program Committee and Delegate Assembly Planning Committee. She is currently on the Holden Village Board of Directors, Steering and Program Committees for the Puget Sound Inter Faith Camp, and is a volunteer with the Food Connection.
