Curriculum Vitae

I have enjoyed Social Work teaching, research and community involvement for the past twenty-four years. My practice experience began as a therapist in Family Services and Mental Health agencies. Since the 1980s I have been doing research and publication related to the impact of information technology on human service practice as well as evaluation of human service programs. Recently this has included a three-year study sponsored by Casey Family Services to evaluate a new model for reducing the digital divide among foster children; research related to the use of email and online support between human service providers and consumers; and investigation of legal and ethical issues related to online practice. I also provide training and consultation to human service agencies in the areas of information technology and program evaluation. My current professional service includes membership on the Publications and Media Commission of CSWE and I have served as the Treasurer of the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and the Association of Baccalaureate Social Work Program Directors (BPD). I am also coeditor of the Journal of Social Work Values and Ethics and on the editorial board of the Journal of Information Technology in Human Services and Journal of Self Help Research. I also serve as Board Member of the Violence Against Women Online Resources (VAWOR). I look forward to becoming involved in the UWT community.
