Decade Celebration a Huge Success!
May 2008— On the evening of May 3, 2008, the Museum of Glass was filled with a steady hum of conversations and laughter. Selling nearly 200 tickets, the event netted over $5,000 to be placed in a scholarship fund for social work students. Celebrating a decade of "Changing Lives, Enriching Communities," all who attended were acknowledged for their contributions to building and sustaining the University of Washington Tacoma's Social Work Program. Greetings from Governor Christine Gregoire were received and Dr. Barbara Levy Simon from Columbia University presented a talk entitled “Changing Lives, Enriching Communities: Partners for Social Justice – Tacoma, 1998-2008.” The silent auction to benefit The Hilltop Artists in Residence was likewise a tremendous success. We sincerely thank all who attended and to those who provided support and assistance in planning for this memorable event and we look forward to the continued growth and development of the UWT Social Work Program. Thank you!
