Admission to the University of Washington carries the expectation that students will conduct themselves with the highest standards of academic honesty and integrity. All members of the University of Washington community (including members on all
three campuses) should be familiar with the University of Washington Student Conduct Code
.
Examples of academic misconduct are:
- Cheating
- Giving or receiving unauthorized assistance or intentionally using or attempting to use unauthorized materials or information
- Fabrication
- Creating false information, data, and/or presenting it as fact
- Facilitation
- Helping or attempting to help another student violate any part of the Student Conduct Code whether intentional or by failure to stop a known violation of the Code
- Plagiarism
- Includes, but is not limited to, intentionally or unintentionally using another person's original words, ideas or research in any academic exercise without properly crediting that person
