Major Exploration
The Career Development Center has several resources available for any student who may be undecided about a major or program of study.
- Choosing a College Major -
- This assessment is designed to assist students in the process of choosing a field of study and a college major. You'll discover your occupational interests, educational goals, and occupational work values to develop an individualized profile that can be matched to majors. (The hard copy test booklet and answer folder is located in the Career Development Center.)
- Discover -
- Based on your interests, skills, strengths, and needs, Discover will generate a list of specific educational programs and possible career options. The program will build a personalized profile that will guide you through the decision making process of choosing a program of study and/or career. When accessing Discover use your UW Net ID, "UWT-your UW Net ID", first time users do not need a password. Contact the Career Development Center if you need assistance.
- QUEST -
- Quest helps you match your interests and personality to academic majors and careers. The results link to Ball State University specific programs and majors, but are ranked in categories relevant to all universities. The UWT Career Development Center can help you connect these categories to UWT majors and programs.
- WOIS -
- In addition to other assessments, the Interest Profiler helps you identify what your interests are and how they relate to different majors and careers. Interest Profiler scores will help you identify your strongest work-related interests. You may also research educational programs related to the careers identified through the assessments.
