Student Social Work Organization (SSWO)
Mission Statement
Guided by the NASW Code of Ethics, the Student Social Work Organization (SSWO) strives to empower individuals, groups, and communities towards social change by listening, advocating for social justice, and serving our community with competence and integrity.
Goals
- To provide opportunities for student participation, leadership and foster professional and academic growth;
- To raise students' awareness through information sharing, educational events, and building partnerships with other disciplines;
- To advocate for social justice to further the rights of social work students and the populations we serve; and
- To promote the visibility of UW Tacoma's campus and students through community outreach and service efforts.
