Legislative Affairs Committee (LAC)
The(LAC) serves to keep the student government abreast about issues and laws coming before the local, state, and federal legislatures. In addition to this, the LAC is responsible for scheduling law makers as special speakers for the campus community. The LAC has a student lobbyist whose job is to push for student interests in the legislature as determined necessary by the LAC. The LAC is responsible for hosting the tri-campus committee, which is designed to keep open communication and dialogue between all three UW campuses (Tacoma, Bothell and Seattle). Lastly, the LAC is involved in the recruitment and selection process surrounding the student regent, which is a position that is filled annually.
