Childcare Assistance Program
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The Childcare Assistance Program Application will be available Wednesday, September 11th, 2013.
The Childcare Assistance Program (CAP) provides childcare assistance to qualifying students with financial need. The CAP grant provides funding to UW Tacoma low income and economically disenfranchised students with children, who continue to have unmet financial need even after the maximum amount of financial aid has been awarded. Financial need is verified through the Office of Financial Aid.
The CAP awards childcare funding at $600.00 per quarter for full-time enrolled students and $400.00 per quarter for part-time enrolled students during the academic year - Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters. There is no assistance available for Summer. Undergraduate and Graduate students are eligible to participate.
In order to receive the CAP grant, eligible students must complete the Childcare Assistance Application as well as supporting documents.
Applications are accepted and processed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Once approved, assistance is available for Autumn 2013, Winter 2014, and Spring 2014, assistance is not available for Summer Quarter. If the program is full, you will be placed on a wait-list and contacted if a space becomes available.
Applications are applicable for the 2013-2014 academic year. Students do not need to re-apply each quarter.
