Autumn 2015 Services Update

Career Development and Education will be offering reduced services during November and December while we restructure our program to better serve UW Tacoma students. Please use the information below to access career resources during this time.

Career Development for Students Autumn Quarter 2015

Walk-In Services

For November and December 2015, we are only offering walk-in services with our Career Prep Consultants through December 11th.

Career Prep Consultants are peer educators with training and experience to assist students and alumni with:

  • Resume critique
  • Cover letter writing
  • LinkedIn basics
  • Mock interviews
  • Hours


    One-on-one student appointments with professional staff will be available again in January 2016.

    Spring 2016 Career Fairs

    Save the date for the All-Industries Career Fair on 4/13 and the Technology Career Fair on 4/15! Registration for employers will open in December.

    Career Kickstarter Workshops

    Career Development wants to prepare you for whatever is next! Join us for any or all of these workshops over the course of two days that will cover the basics you need to know to search for your next opportunity after the UW Tacoma. Advanced registration is required.

    Finding Your Fit

    In the job search, fit is everything. Employers know they can hire for fit and train for skills, so it is your job to determine with whom that best fit lies. This session will examine how to search for jobs based on this fit so that your job search will be successful.

    Cultivating Connections

    We have all heard it said before: it's all about who you know. Your network is bigger than you think, so this session will help in identifying who is in your network, how to develop these connections, and ways to unlock new connections.

    Not sure for which companies you are looking? Google is your best resource to start mining information about who is hiring in what fields.

    To access HuksyJobs, you first must activate your account. Here's how (if you're already activated your account, read below):

    1. First, click here to get to the HuskyJobs website.
    2. Your user name is your @uw.edu email address.
    3. Next, click the "forgot my password" tab to receive, via email, your temporary password. Complete your profile and change your password.
    4. Upload your resume(s), cover letter(s) and any unofficial transcripts.
    5. Return regularly!

    Already activated? Simply go to www.huskyjobs.washington.edu/students to log directly into your account.
