Career Development & Education
Career Development and Education assists undergraduate and graduate students and alumni in developing, evaluating, and implementing career and educational decisions. Our staff is here to support students' endeavors toward a rewarding college experience and successful professional growth beyond UW Tacoma.
- Major & Career Assessments-FOCUS-2 is a self-paced, online education and career planning tool to help you identify your natural strengths and make effective major and career decisions.
- Choose a Major-Resources and steps to get you started with considering your options for programs of study.
- Explore Careers & Get Experience-Use these research tools to gain insight on careers; includes resources for in-depth occupational information; suggestions for pre-employment experiences
- Networking-Includes information on Husky Career Network and tips on networking
- Find Jobs & Internships-Search for jobs and/or internships on HuskyJobs or through other valuable websites as well as on-campus employment opportunities
- Prepare for Graduate School-Get an idea of an appropriate timeline when applying for graduate school; includes helpful websites for researching graduate schools; explore UW Tacoma graduate programs
- Resumes & Interviews-Tips and information that will get you started on created your resume and preparing for your next interview
- Helpful Handouts-Various documents that include examples that will assist you with various career-related topics
- Career & Internship Fair-UW Tacoma's Spring Quarter Career & Internship Fair; includes tips and strategies for preparing and attending a career fair
- Employer Resources-Details on UW Tacoma's Employer Partner Program; resources and information on how to post job and internship announcements, as well as coordinating on-campus recruiting and interviewing
- Faculty Resources-Option to request a speaker from Career Development & Education
- IM with the Career Counselor-This is a great option if you have a quick career-related question
