Join us for UWT's 1st Annual Volunteer & Internship Fair! This event is open to all students and alumni and will feature 50 non-profit companies looking for volunteers and interns for the 2009-2010 academic year.

What to Expect
- The Volunteer & Internship Fair will be held in Philip Hall with 50 non-profit companies in attendance
- Company representatives and recruiters will be at tables
- Many students and alumni will be attending and networking
- Louder atmosphere! Be proactive when talking to employers.
Get the Most out of the Fair
- Prepare your 30 second bio to use in introducing yourself and discussing your skills with employers
- Have your materials on hand (e.g. resumes, business cards)
- Collect employers' business cards for follow-up after the event
Researching Companies
- Check out the company's website and create questions that you may want to ask during the fair
Develop Your Resume
- Include relevant educational, work, and volunteer information that shows you at your best

What to Wear
- Business casual attire is acceptable
- If you already have a suit, it's appropriate to wear
- Wear what makes you feel professional, confident, and comfortable
- Plan where you can leave your book bag if you don't want to carry it around during the Volunteer & Internship Fair
What to Bring
- Strong handshake
- 20 copies of your resume (you may have specific resumes for different employers or one targeted resume for a particular industry)
- Business cards (business card example)
- Something to hold your resumes, business cards, and employer information that you collect (portfolio, notebook, folder)
- A notepad with possible questions that you may ask employers
Meeting Companies
- Be ready to present your 30 second bio or 1-2 minute introduction that highlights your skills and strengths that are relevant to the employer with whom you are speaking
- Typical time spent at each table is 3-7 minutes
- Offer your resume; if an employer suggests that you hold on to your resume and apply online, offer your business card instead and agree to follow the application process
- Ask thoughtful questions that you may have generated from your employer research
