Defining "Parents & Families"

Parents and Families are defined as anyone who directly supports a UW Tacoma student financially, emotionally or otherwise. This person(s) may be a parent or guardian, a grandparent, a spouse, a partner or significant other. Regardless of their "title," Parent and Family Affairs will offer opportunities and resources that are specific to these individuals.

Family Orientation is a day-long program designed to introduce you to the university and its resources for parents and family members. Family Orientation is not mandatory but we encourage all parents and families to attend.
