Check out the calendar of events for Winter Quarter Welcome Days 2012. There are a variety of different events being hosted by departments on campus to help you get involved at UW Tacoma.

Northwest Harvest Volunteer Event

  • Join the Asian Pacific Islander Student Union (APISU) and Volunteer Services as we sort and package food for distribution to the hungry in our community. Northwest Harvest provides 1.6 million meals per month through its services, with support from volunteers like you! (Transportation to the event will be provided)

International Student Orientation

  • Full-day orientation for incoming International students to cover visa information, meet and hear tips from current UWT international students, connect with programs and campus resources to promote success in the international student transition to UW Tacoma.

  • Nick Rogen, Graduate Social Work student and author, dialogs about his first book, A Life Worth Living. Join in the conversation as Nick shares the many challenging life experiences that lead him to write this book.

Wrongful Convictions in Washington State Community Engagement Forum

  • Since 2008, four people who were convicted of major crimes and incarcerated in Washington state prisons have been exonerated and released. UW Tacoma presents a forum to discuss these cases and the factors that contribute to wrongful convictions.
