The University of Washington Tacoma is committed to making physical facilities and instructional programs more accessible to students with disabilities. Disability Support Services (DSS) functions as the focal point for coordination of services for students with disabilities. In compliance with Title II

, any enrolled student at UW Tacoma who has an appropriately documented physical, emotional, or mental disability that "substantially limits one or more major life activities [including walking, seeing, hearing, speaking, breathing, learning and working]," is eligible for services from DSS.
Section 504
of the Rehabilitation act of 1973
, in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990
, and Washington State Laws
prohibit discrimination against individuals with disabilities.
It is our goal to make your learning experience at the University of Washington Tacoma as comfortable and rewarding as possible. If you are considering enrolling at UW Tacoma, or are a student already enrolled here and you are wondering if you may be eligible for accommodations on our campus, please make an appointment to visit the DSS Office. Please browse the rest of the DSS Web site and then feel free to contact the DSS Office.
We look forward to meeting you!
