South Puget Sound Expanding Your Horizons
(SPS-EYH) presents a daylong conference for middle and
junior high school girls. Participants have the opportunity
to take part in a series of small,
hands-on workshops with local women who are professionals
in fields related to science, math, and technology. The
program is designed to encourage girls to maintain an
interest in math and science education, as well as introduce
girls to women role models who are pursuing a variety
of related careers.
Attn. Girls! Math, science, and technology are
fascinating disciplines that serve
as the foundation to a whole world of interests including medicine,
music, video production, game development, graphic art, forensics,
and much more. When you get to high school, you have the opportunity
to select the types of courses you will take; we hope that the EYH
conference will inspire you to take as much math, science, and
technology as possible!
SPS-EYH 2006 will be hosted by the University of Washington,
Tacoma on March 24th from
7:45am-1:15pm. |
