2008 ACM-ICPC Regional Programming Contest

15 Nov 2008

Our department's first foray into the ACM-ICPC Regional Programming Contest is concluded. There were a total of 85 teams competing in the Northwest region, of which 24 were at the UO site here in Eugene; there were 11 problems given in the contest.

Team UWT Purple (Jonathan Hogins, Mark Jung, Kevin Stueve) finished 6 of the 11 problems, finishing 6th at the site and 20th overall. Team UWT Gold (Matthew Fiebig, Steven Hotag, Tim Simon) finished 3 of the 11 problems, finishing 16th at the site and 49th overall.

It is worth noting that the top 3 teams at the site were from UW Seattle, and that no team at the site finished more than 7 problems (though several teams at other sites did; the overall winner was one of the Stanford teams, which finished 10).

Full standings and scoreboards are available; see this web page for site info and this one for overall info.
