TCSS 498: C Programming

- Subject Matter
The "skills" short course for Winter Quarter will be on C programming. We will cover the basics of the C language, including memory management, standard libraries, text processing, debugging using gdb, and multi-processing. We will be using the Unix/Linux platform for the course.
- Prerequisite: Completion of TCSS360
- Text: Prinz and Crawford, "C in a Nutshell" O'Reilly 2006. (not pre-ordered through the bookstore; you can get it easily on line.)
- Credits: 2 or 3
If you enroll for 3 credits, you will have to complete some extra project or research work, which we will negotiate in the first couple of weeks. Note: 5 credits of "short course" can be used for CSS elective credit
