Application Procedure

Dual Admission Applicants

The Dual Admissions program allows students who are beginning their studies at an Institute of Technology partner community college to "save a space" in the CSS or CES program and obtain customized advising to ensure full transferability of all coursework. Students accepted in the program are admitted to the UW Tacoma with all the rights and responsibilities afforded any full time student including lab and library privileges and the opportunity to participate in student organizations.

Dual Admission students are not required to take courses at UWT to remain enrolled in the program but must adhere to the following requirements:

  1. Maintain quarterly contact with the Dual Admissions Adviser before registering for each quarter
  2. Provide unofficial transcripts to the Dual Admission Adviser at the end of each completed quarter once grades are posted
  3. Remain in good academic standing with the community college

Those accepted into the program are simulateously admitted to both UW Tacoma and a partner community college, enjoying full University of Washington student status and the following benefits:

  • Access to both the UW and community college libraries, computer labs and other resources.
  • Customized student services, including academic advising and financial aid counseling.
  • Interaction with UW Tacoma faculty, staff, and students as a community college freshman and sophomore.
  • High-value educational program, public school cost, and close to home.
