Job Descriptions
Receptionist
Duties & Responsibilities
- Help students register for and use TLC services
- Greet students, faculty, staff and provide information on the TLC
- Schedule room use
- Answer phone and email
- Provide clerical support; file, photocopy, FAX, prepare mailings, pick up campus mail, assist with data entry, shred documents, assemble packets, word processing
- Attend scheduled meetings and training events
- Keep the TLC work areas clean and organized
Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Must have a strong desire to help students in an academic support setting
- Good computer skills including knowledge of MS Office and email
- Organized and capable of multi-tasking

Math Tutor
Duties & Responsibilities
- Help students to understand concepts behind their work and develop stronger quantitative skills
- Help students develop learning strategies
- Attend training and scheduled meetings
- Assist with workshops, orientations, and classroom visits
Qualifications
- Excellent math, quantative, and communication abilities
- Understanding of Excel and SPSS
- Ability to clearly explain ideas and concepts in a collaborative manner
- Must be able to pass an entrance math exam

Writing Consultant
Duties & Responsibilities
- Work with students to help them understand assignments, clarify ideas, develop into better writers, and accomplish their academic goals.
- Help students develop learning strategies
- Attend training and scheduled meetings
- Assist with workshops, orientations, and classroom visits
- Develop handouts, web content, and other resources for the TLC
- Perform light reception duties
Qualifications
- Excellent writing and communication abilities
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Word
- Strong desire to help others learn and understand
- Ability to clearly explain ideas and concepts in a collaborative manner
