Mexico flagRegistration and Fees

Application Deadline

Applications are no longer being accepted.

Insurance

Health insurance coverage is mandatory. Students in University of Washington degree programs may purchase UW student insurance or other coverage; others must provide their own insurance, and provide proof of insurance coverage at time of application. For more information, see http://www.ipe.washington.edu/domestic/insurance.html.

Financial Aid

Students receiving financial aid funds which they intend to apply toward the program cost should consult with the Financial Aid office in Student Affairs as soon as possible. Be aware that you may not receive financial aid in time to cover the deposit or first payment. You should be prepared to pay these fees out of pocket until your financial aid check arrives. Deadlines for payments cannot be waived or postponed.

Schedule of Program Payments

  3-week Program 5-week Program Due
Deposit $200 $200 at time of application
Travel Fee (see below) $955 $1,600 May 1, 2008
Course Fee (see below) $700 $1,100 July 11, 2008
Total $1,855 $2,900

Deposit and travel fees are to be paid to the UWT Cashier. Make checks out to "University of Washington, Tacoma" and write "Mexico Summer 2008" in the Memo field. Course fees are charged to participants' UW student accounts, and are paid the same way as tuition. The course fee is due on the tuition due date for Summer Quarter 2008.

All students are expected to make payments according to the payment schedule. In the case of financial aid support, students must work with the Financial Aid office.

Refund Conditions

If you are not accepted to the program or withdraw in writing prior to April 1, the entire $200 deposit will be refunded. Any student withdrawing after April 1 will be liable for any non-recoverable payments already made or committed on behalf of the participant, which could range from the deposit amount to the entire program fee. Notice of withdrawal from the program must be made in writing to the UWT International Programs office.

Changes in Cost or Scope of Program

In the event of significant changes in the cost of transportion, food or lodging, some adjustments to program fees may be necessary. In addition, scheduled activities may vary slightly depending on the availability of Mexican scholars and instructors. If such changes occur, students will be notified and options for the students will be given.

Program Cancellation

If viable enrollment is not reached by May 1, 2008, the program will be cancelled and all money paid in, including the $200 deposit, will be refunded.
