Urban Studies Alumni

We are thankful and appreciative to all the friends, community members, and alumni of the Urban Studies Program.  Over the years we have been delighted to be a part of this community and look forward to the many bright years in our future. We have over 400 alumni who are engaged and involved in making a difference.  We are committed to providing the highest quality education for our students as well as providing many informative, relevant, and useful outreach events for the public.  These efforts are not possible without the generous support from you.

We offer many events open to the public and invite you to participate in as many as you want.  The Urban Studies program annually holds a one-day open forum on issues of critical importance to the broader community. Urban Studies faculty, students, staff, and national experts in their fields explore the trends, challenges, and new possibilities associated with policy coordination and institutional leadership both in the Puget Sound Region and across the United States. Past forums have addressed Beyond Urban Branding (2014), Transportation for the Next Economy (2013), Urban Industrial Futures (2012), The Urban University (2011), and Waterfront Tacoma (2010).  We also have a public lecture series with one event each quarter and proudly begin it with the Annual Debra Friedman Lecture.  For more information about the public lecture series (2014) and other events, visit our campus calendar.

Making a contribution to our program, no matter the size, will make a difference.  To discuss giving options, contact our Director Ali Modarres or our development officer, Barbara Bartolatz-Littrell.

In the end, we really want to hear from you!  Alumni of the program can join our email list anytime.  If you would like to join, please visit the list serve sign-up page. Come visit us anytime in Pinkerton Building and join any of our public lectures, panels, and forums.  If you have news you would like to share, send us an e-mail at uwturban@uw.edu.
