GIS Certificate: General Education Requirements


Foreign LanguageTwo years in high school of the same foreign language or 10 credits of one language at the college level.
MathematicsThree years of high school math through intermediate (second year) algebra or a course in intermediate algebra at the college level.
Quantitative/Symbolic Reasoning5 credits
E.g., Symbolic Logic, college-level algebra, Statistics, Pre-Calculus, Mircoeconomics or Macroeconomics. Other courses may apply.
Writing15 credits
Must include 5 credits of English composition and 10 additional credits of writing-intensive coursework.
Visual, Literary and Performing Arts (Humanities)15 credits
College-level foreign language credits can be applied toward this requirement.
Individuals and Societies (Social Science)15 credits
The Natural World (Natural Science)15 credits
ElectivesTo complete 90 transferable credits.
