UWTSA Activities
The
UWTSA does more than just a summer barbeque (although that's certainly a popular event). We mentor new staff, encourage staff professional development, recognize outstanding staff contributions, provide a voice for staff on numerous UW committees and work to address staff concerns on campus.
Professional Development Taskforce Box Talks
The taskforce has created a monthly series of one-hour classes and seminars where you can bring your lunch and learn something new. Events will be posted on the front page of the UWTSA site as they come up.
New Staff Mentoring
The Mentoring Committee Chair oversees a team of volunteers who pair up to help show new staff around campus and make them feel welcome. Mentors also give new staff contacts outside their department that can answer questions and provide advice.
Leadership, Community & Values Initiative (LCVI)
The UWTSA has partnered with Faculty Assembly to study ways to continue to improve faculty and staff job satisfaction
and build campus community.
Holiday Service Project
Each year since 2003, the UWTSA has organized a service project to benefit local families and community organizations.
Communication Survey
The results from a survey on campus communication flow conducted in March 2004 are available for review.
