Minutes from the November 18, 2004 General Meeting

Dannah Madden introduced new employee and mentee, Deana Holmes.  Deana is the Undergraduate Advisor in the Social Work program.

Beckie Etheridge spoke about the elections for new UWTSA board members.

Jessica Roshan met with the vice president of Walker High School.  This is the school that we have adopted for our holiday giving.   Jessica learned that several of the students are homeless and in dire need of school supplies and clothing.  Danelle Dauron will store all of the donations in the Finance office.  Danelle Dauron, Lia Wetzstein, Naarah McDonald, and Noreen Slease will be assisting Jessica with this project.

Beckie reminded us about the next interview with the chancellor search candidate next week and how important it is to attend the UWTSA interviews.  Lia Wetzstein suggested that in the future, the first 8 questions be limited to ½ hour and the last ½ hour be dedicated to questions by UWTSA members and, if time, questions to the UWTSA members by the chancellor candidate.

Congratulations to the UWTSA for their participation in the Combined Fund Drive.  Numerous affordable baskets were donated.

Beckie gave us an update on the Tri-Campus Retreat.  80-90 people attended the Tri-Campus Retreat at the Salish Lodge.  One of the topics discussed was UW becoming a centralized, blended, or independent campus.  What are the pros and cons? Ultimately, the Regents will be making that decision.
