What is Blackboard?

Blackboard is the course management system used at UWT. It provides faculty with a wide variety of tools they can use for presenting their course content online. Blackboard includes components for communicating with students, managing course group work, creating and administering tests, and many other instructional purposes. It's easy for both students and course designers to use, and allows instructors to give their students secure, password-controlled access to their course materials from virtually any computer with an internet connection.

A majority of instructors at UWT incorporate Blackboard into their classes. They may use it to post their syllabi, handouts, assignments, quizzes, tests and other course related materials. They might also conduct class discussions or group work on Blackboard. Blackboard is available 24 hours a day and from any computer (that meets minimum system requirements) with an Internet connection. If you decide to utilize Blackboard in your course would like help getting started visit our First-Time User Guide for faculty.
