Admission
Applicants to the UW Tacoma Global Honors Program must first be accepted to the University of Washington Tacoma. Global Honors is not a degree-granting major; therefore, students will need to apply to an academic program at the University of Washington Tacoma. See the Admissions website for application deadlines and information.
In order to be eligible for Global Honors, students must have a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average (either from UWT or the incoming transfer GPA). This GPA must be maintained through out the duration of the UWT career.
Global Honors applicants must submit the following:
- A letter of application indicating why you are interested in the Global Honors Program, what you think you could gain from the program, and what you believe you could contribute to the program.
- A writing sample of 5-10 pages - this could be a college paper of which you are particularly proud.
- Two letters of recommendation to be mailed from individuals familiar with your academic capabilities and potential for success in the Global Honors Program. These should be written by previous instructors at the college level. Letters should be mailed to: Global Honors Program, University of Washington Tacoma, Campus Box 358436, 1900 Commerce St., Tacoma, WA 98402.
You will be contacted to schedule a personal interview after all of your application materials have been received and reviewed.
